All parental couples and single parents in Germany who are entitled to Child Allowance should check to ensure that they are receiving the right amount.

From 1st July 2016 the Child Allowance was increased by €20 a month to a maximum of €160.

Parental couples and single parents can apply to receive Child Allowance for each child if the child is unmarried, under the age of 25 and lives in their household.

The parents must also be in receipt of Child Benefit and meet other requirements. In addition to Child Allowance, the Housing Allowance payment also increased this year.

For families with low incomes this can make a difference.

Thanks to the higher Housing Allowance and Child Allowance payments they may no longer need to receive any benefits from their Jobcentre.

To find out if you qualify for these benefits and if you are receiving the right amount, please arrange for a consultation at the local Family Benefits Office.
