Explaining how she got the inspiration to write “Lamellia: The Kingdom of Mushrooms”, Gloria says: “About three years ago, I saw a big and ugly brown mushroom during a walk in the forest of the Siebengebirge, Germany. Thereafter I began paying attention to mushrooms, especially during autumn. One day I thought why not write a story involving mushrooms. I continued observing mushrooms while walking in the Usambara Mountains, Tanzania. During a holiday in Austria, I photographed mushrooms and visited a mushroom museum for further inspiration.”
